17 September 2015 – Handling Difficult Conversations & Managing Conflict – Manchester

The event will focus on Handling Difficult Conversations & Managing Conflict in the Workplace.

Event Details

This free event for HR Professionals has the theme: Handling Difficult Conversations & Managing Conflict in the Workplace. This session is a must for all business owners, senior managers and HR professionals who are looking to understand more about why some conversations are more difficult than others and how they can improve their own skillset in approaching such conversations.

Our speaker will be Dave Harrison, Co-Founder and Director of 10Eighty our Manchester event partner. Dave’s background is in helping organisations deal with difficult conversations and in handling conflict. He will draw on this extensive experience when passing on his thoughts as well as involving you through stories, models and “real -play”.

Delegates will learn more about:

  • The Psychology behind Crucial Conversations – why they can be naturally difficult;

  • Key Frameworks and Models that can be applied in order to ensure crucial conversations go well;

  • Strategies for Crucial Conversations that they can apply to real issues both now and in the future;

  • How to deal more effectively with their own emotional responses and potential anxiety in relation to Crucial Conversations.

Dave will use a mix of learning media including slides, discussion, Q&A , case studies and real play in order to engage and enthuse all delegates about this critical topic, ensuring people feel confident and competent to have that conversation today!

Will Clayton, Head of Employment, Taylors Solicitors, will then examine the topic from a legal perspective.  He will cover some notable Employment Tribunal cases where staff personality clashes have damaged the workplace and pranks between employees have backfired.  Will shall then share his thoughts to assist employers when managing conflict in the workplace and handling difficult conversations.

The session will end with an Employment Law Update, from Peter Byrne, Employment Partner, Taylors.

Numbers are limited, so make sure that you reserve your place by booking now.
